Our Youth Group meets in the Fall and in the Spring. We participate in many events throughout the summer as well. This includes our Youth Summer Camp, but it also includes a giant Youth rally held at Point Loma Nazarene University called Elev8.
Our Fall and Spring meetings occur on Mondays from 6 to 8pm. We meet in the Sanctuary of Weaverville Church of the Nazarene. The age range for Youth Group begins in 6th grade and goes through 12th grade.
We gather together for a meal at 6pm. People from the church graciously provide the meal so it is free to the Youth Group! We are very thankful for their generosity! We set up a giant inflatable screen with comedy or Christian Music Videos playing during this time of socializing.
At 6:30, we begin our study. This term we are looking into a study called:
"Half Truths: God Helps Those Who Help Themselves and Other Things the Bible Doesn't Say."
We will also begin another study later on in the term called:
"Chasing Love: Relationships in a Confused Culture."
In Addition to our study, we love to play "Win it, in a Minute" silly games!
Hiding God's Word in our hearts is a priority in Youth Group. We look at passages in the Bible and we "Tell the Story" to each other. This is a technique of acting out the Bible passage to make it easier to comprehend and memorize Scripture! Plus ... it is fun!
