VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Elizabeth H.
VBS is a fun and exciting way for children to learn about the love of Jesus Christ while making new friends, playing games, making crafts, and singing silly songs.

Attending this church has drastically changed my life. I am taught the word of God in depth every week, and I can honestly say that I know God wants me here.

My kids are enthusiastically awaiting this year’s dates for VBS. It’s one of our favorite annual activities that they look forward to every year! Fun activities for all ages (5, 8, & 11 year old kids)!

Vacation Bible School is for kids ages 3 through 6th grade
What do I wear? You should come however you are comfortable so long as you are modest. On Wednesday the 14th, wear your bathing suit under your clothes so you're ready for water games!
We are located in beautiful Trinity County, Ca. If you enter our town on highway 299 from the East, you simply make a left turn on Oregon Street, just before our iconic movie theater. Oregon Street will take you up a hill and you will see our sign on the right with our Fellowship Hall behind it. The large building in the back is our sanctuary and office. We look forward to worshipping Jesus next to you in either of these places.
We have two parking lots. You can park in front of the Sanctuary, next to the Fellowship Hall entrance or there is another parking lot behind the Fellowship Hall. If there is not enough parking, we have an agreement with Young's Ranch, that is next door, to use their parking lot as an overflow on Sunday mornings.
We are excited about welcoming you at the front door of our Sanctuary after you walk from your car to the door. We want to see you! May God bless you!
Weaverville Church of the Nazarene
Plan for Reopening
May 28, 2020
We have a sanctuary that has an occupancy limit of 298. If we seat 25% of this, we can have 73 chairs out. We have removed all of the chairs from our sanctuary with the exception of these 73 as of 5/27/2020.
The pastor met with church leaders that will be volunteering on 5/27/2020 to go over our COVID-19 Prevention Plan. They were trained to prevent the spreading of COVID-19, to implement the church plan, and to evaluate the building for further compliance.
We have signs inside and outside of the building in compliance with the COVID-19 Business plan that was completed on May 7th and submitted to www.TrinityCounty.org.
We will have volunteers meet people in the parking lot to see them to the door and the outside signage provided from the information in the Trinity County Business Plan application. We have lines that are six feet apart outside, in case a line is needed. These lines continue into the building with directional arrows into the building.
Everyone will enter through the main doors and exit a door in the front of the sanctuary on the north side. When people come to the door, they will be greeted with first class service. We have a temperature check station outside of the main door. Only people who are well should enter. Continuing inside to our information desk, we have another attendant who will be offering face masks, hand sanitizer, and water bottles to each person. Our drinking fountain has been closed.
We have a number of ushers who will take each family group / couple to their seats. The chairs inside our sanctuary have been spread out in groups with clearly marked aisles and directional arrows. The user will direct people to their seats for the service at 10:30am. At 11am we will begin streaming our sermon keeping up with what we have been doing throughout this shelter in place order. We are streaming to Facebook Live.
Below are point by point explanations of how we are addressing the county guidelines.
County Guidelines:
Establish and implement a COVID-19 prevention plan for every location, train staff on the plan, and regularly evaluate workplaces for compliance.
Church addressed: This occurred on 5/27/2020
County Guidelines:
Train employees and volunteers on COVID-19, including how to prevent it from spreading and which underlying health conditions may make individuals more susceptible to contracting the virus.
Church addressed: This was part of our training on 5/27/2020
County Guidelines:
Implement cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
Church addressed: We have a custodian who takes care of this regularly. In addition, we have another volunteer who will be disinfecting door knobs, handles, main surfaces, and the like before, after, and during the Sunday morning service.
County Guidelines:
Set physical distancing guidelines.
Church addressed: All of our chairs have been spaced in groups that are six feet apart. We plan to move chairs around on Sunday morning with the help of trained ushers to keep family units together and at least six feet from other family units during the service.
County Guidelines:
Recommend that staff and guests wear cloth face coverings, and screen staff for temperature and symptoms at the beginning of their shifts.
Church addressed: We are recommending that face coverings be worn. We have them available if someone doesn’t have one and would like one. We also have lots of hand sanitizer. We will also be providing water bottles for each person as we are closing our drinking fountains.
Church addressed: We will have a temperature station for people as they enter the sanctuary. Staff will be checked before the beginning of the service. The ushers and greeters that will be helping people to their seats will be gloved and masked.
