WELCOME
Hi! I am glad that you are checking out our website. If you are searching for a good church, that is what we are. If you have never been to our church before, come by this Sunday at 10:30! We would love to get to know you. We want to know Jesus Christ fully and make him fully known. We are Christians following Jesus of Nazareth. That is why our name is Nazarene. We follow Jesus the Nazarene who grew up in Nazareth. We want to see lives changed here by the power of Jesus Christ! Come to church; come meet with God! That is why I go to church, I want to meet with God. His people are not perfect; I am not perfect, but Jesus Christ is! He is teaching all of us how we can love God and one another better every day! We look forward to meeting you! God bless.

FAQ
Have questions? We have the answers!
We are located in beautiful Trinity County, Ca. If you enter our town on highway 299 from the East, you simply make a left turn on Oregon Street, just before our iconic movie theater. Oregon Street will take you up a hill and you will see our sign on the right with our Fellowship Hall behind it. The large building in the back is our sanctuary and office. We look forward to worshipping Jesus next to you in either of these places.
Our Sunday Service is at 10:30am and meets in our Sanctuary. We also have Sunday School the hour before at 9:30 in our Fellowship Hall. There is a wonderful group of mature adults meeting in the main room. Kids have a Sunday School Room off to the right and our Youth (6th grade on up) meet upstairs in the Youth Room for a devotional near the pool tables, ping pong tables, and couches.
Monday, we have a home group meeting at the Schleusner home at 6:30pm.
Tuesday, we have our Kid's Bible Club meeting in the Sanctuary with the giant inflatables from 6 to 8pm.
We also have a Bible Study that meets on Wednesday at 6:15pm in our Sanctuary.
Thursday, is our Youth Group that meet in the Youth Room upstairs in the Fellowship Hall and then transition to the Sanctuary after we eat dinner together, and participate in a fun activity (often giant inflatable slides).
Once a month, we have a women's meeting called Daughters of the King that meets in the Fellowship Hall at 6pm on a Wednesday.
On the second Saturday of the month, we have our Men's Breakfast that meets in the Fellowship Hall at 9AM sharp. If you are late, you may not get any bacon!
We have two parking lots. You can park in front of the Sanctuary, next to the Fellowship Hall entrance or there is another parking lot behind the Fellowship Hall. If there is not enough parking, we have an agreement with Young's Ranch, that is next door, to use their parking lot as an overflow on Sunday mornings.
We are excited about welcoming you at the front door of our Sanctuary after you walk from your car to the door. We want to see you! May God bless you!
We love kids! Our Pastor Jesse & Melinda have quite a few by themselves! We have a nursery, Sunday School, Children's Church, a Tuesday Kid's Bible Club, and a Thursday Youth Group!
On Sunday morning, we have a Sunday School for kids in our Fellowship Hall at 9:30am. We also have a Youth Devotional upstairs in the Youth Room at the same time for 6th grade on up.
In the service, after we have worshipped in song, we have the kids come forward for something that we call "Kid's Talk" before the kids join our pastor at the altar and pray with them. After the children are prayed for they are off to Children's Church in the Fellowship Hall. The adults are then able to enjoy the Pastor's message in a little quieter atmosphere.
During the service, we have a nursery that the kids and their parents can use. There is always a nursery attendant to take care of our greatest treasure, the next generation. Moms and dads can stay in the nursery too, if they like. We have installed two monitors and sound so that you can make a little more noise with the kiddos and still be apart of the service. We love our little ones!
Our big kids night is Tuesday. We call it our Kid's Bible Club! Tuesday from 6 to 8, we do silly songs with Pastor Jesse, we watch a movie on a big 20 foot screen with popcorn about the Bible, we do a craft, a game, and then we tire ourselves out on massive inflatable obstacle courses and slides. Whew! It is a fun night. The Bible curriculum that we use is the Christian Broadcasting Network's (CBN) Superbook. Two kids and a robot go back in time into the Bible stories and relive the adventure with Moses, King David, and our Savior, Jesus Christ! This is for kids from about 4 to 6th grade. Younger kids can come if an adult wants to stay with them.
Youth Group is a Thursday event! We meet in the Youth Room that is upstairs in our Fellowship Hall. We hang out, drink Pepsi, have a dinner provided by some talented cooks, play ping pong or pool, before going next door to our Sanctuary to study the gospels from the Bible with Pastor Jesse. We can provide you a Bible, but most of the time, Pastor Jesse prints off the Bible passage with lots of fun pictures to help understand the lesson and simply make everyone laugh! After our study, we participate in fun activities. This is often with giant inflatable obstacle courses or slides. However, we also play nerf wars and silly youth group games like, "Honey, if you loved me, you'd smile." We have a good time, eat well, and learn about Jesus!
We would love to show you hospitality as you plan to come and see us. We would like to have someone ready to greet you at the front door on a Sunday morning and give you a tour that is customized to your family. We will sit with you in the service and help you to know where you can find information for upcoming events.
It is okay if you are just wanting to learn about the church and what we believe in. We think that it makes sense that you would belong to a group that cares for the community before you make a decision to follow Jesus or not. Come plan a visit. We believe that God created you on purpose and that He wants you to have a relationship with Him and the people that He loves! God loves you! Check out our local team for Jesus Christ at Weaverville Church of the Nazarene!
Our Service is a family atmosphere rather than a performance! We invite everyone to come as they are to meet with God. We almost always begin our service with a "Welcome" from Pastor Jesse where we invite God to come and speak to us! We are quite fond of hearing the greeting, "Morning Glory and Hallelujah!"
We begin with reading from the Bible and a prayer. We then worship God through song. We have different leaders in the church take turns leading us in a "Family Prayer Time." We continue to sing some songs, pass a plate to give financially to God, and then hear "Announcements" about what is going on in the life of the church.
After "Announcements," which is usually a joyful time, Pastor Jesse brings the kids to the front for "Kid's Talk." We usually celebrate anniversaries and birthdays with the kids in the front. We aren't afraid to sing a whimsical birthday song if someone in the room requests it for their special day! Often there is a short movie clip that Pastor Jesse will ask the kids their thoughts before the kids go to the wooden prayer altars and pray with our pastor. The kids then run to the front door where the Children's Church teacher is waiting to escort them to our Fellowship Hall to learn more about Jesus. The adults then enjoy a quiter atmosphere as they prepare to receive the message that God has laid on our Pastor's heart.
We typically finish with a prayer and a short benediction as we turn to the doors and each other, refreshed and looking forward to the week to come.
We celebrate communion at special times on the church calendar. This is a sacred time to come close to Jesus, our Savior and Lord!
What do I wear? You should come however you are comfortable so long as you are modest -- (no bathing suits). There are those that dress up and those in cut off jeans and shorts. Coming to church is coming to hear Jesus, not a fashion show. Be comfortable and come.
We are a Bible believing church! We are Christians who are following Jesus of Nazareth. This is where our denomination gets the word "Nazarene." It is from the word Nazareth.
The nice thing about working together with other churches is that we are able to participate in Jesus' Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) globally. That starts with offering church camps for kids from 2nd grade through 12th grade.
It helps us build fun kits to send to missionaries all over the world and at home. We do this with "Crisis Care Kits" and we work with Franklin Graham's Operation Christmas Child to send Christmas presents all over the world.
We also are able to participate in short term missions by pairing with one of our churches around the world or working with one of our California churches to form a group to send.
We believe in compassion at home and are active with our own church pantry in Trinity County, but we are also mindful that we are to "Go, and Make Disciples of all nations."
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
Your kids will have so much fun at our Kids Bible Club on Tuesdays at 6pm! We sing silly songs, we watch kids jump into the Bible and interact with the Bible stories, we do crafts, games, and ... we have giant inflatable obstacle courses with slides!
On Sunday, we have a kids Sunday School and a Youth Devotional class in our Fellowship Hall at 9:30AM.
WHO WE ARE
Our Mission
Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and one another. The Bible speaks about iron sharpening iron. We believe that together we grow stronger. We are a community of believers.
Our Vision
We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Most churches find it is comfortable to stay within the walls, but we make it an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our city changed.
Our Values
We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. We value the Word of God, and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken, and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.
WE LOVE CHURCH
"'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.' (Matthew 11:28) Weaverville Church of the Nazarene lives up to this Bible verse! All who want to come are welcome because our church family loves to share Jesus' word and fellowship. Come on into our Sanctuary at 10 am on Sunday mornings for "Holy Grounds" (fellowship/coffee time)! We would love to meet you or see you again if you have been here before!"
